Hello friends, welcome to my blog and thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate you taking time out of your busy lives to come spend time with me!
I’m a perfume collector, I LOVE cooking and baking. I also recently started my own produce garden and still have a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying the process. I love all things girly; fashion, styling, affordable dupes, doing my own nails, etc!
A little bit about me, My name is Micaela Rogers. I’m currently 29 years young and I was born on Feb 8th, 1995. My parents moved to Louisiana when I was 2 years old and I have lived in the swamp ever since. A couple important things to know about me, I love God and give Him all the glory. Without His mercy, I would not be alive today. In 2012, when I was just 17 years old, I was involved in a serious automobile accident. There was the first wreck where everyone was fine, but as I went back to the 2 door mustang to get my phone to call for help at 1 am on the interstate, an 18-wheeler hit the front of the car on the side I was bending into, at about 76 mph. My body was thrown from the vehicle and I was found about 223 feet away from where the impact happened. Since then, I’ve had around 27 surgeries. I wasn’t supposed to live, let alone keep both legs or ever walk again. But GOD! Because of the wreck, I dealt with incredibly devastating hair loss, scarring, arthritic pain on a daily basis, I grieved the loss of who I was as I entered into a new version of myself. A version that can’t do normal, every day activities without great difficulty and pain.
I got into hair and beauty whilst trying desperately to grow my hair back after the fall-out I experience after every surgery. I got into several avenues of holistic healing while trying to find ways to relieve my symptoms, but I 100% still use modern medicine in the mix.
I grew up cooking as a child, my favorite shows as a young child were the Food Network shows. I’m french cajun and have a burning passion for food and especially baking! That along with my very sedentary lifestyle cause me to gain a LOT of weight over the years, and with my physical limitations after the wreck, I can’t exactly workout enough to lose the weight. I was feeling lost and desperate and I had tried every diet under the sun, and because of my limited movements day to day, all the calories I ate just packed on more weight. In the beginning of 2022, I had VSG which is a form of weight-loss surgery. And I very nearly died of complications. I know what we’re all thinking, and yes I seem to have rotten luck in life. Ha! But I am alive and well, I’m walking, I still get to cook and enjoy food, I’m still able to lightly exercise and move my body, and I’m still using the methods that I’ve quite literally spent HUNDREDS of hours researching over the years, for growing hair, taking care of your skin, and so on! I’d absolutely love it if you chose to stick around with me on this journey, let’s connect and become friends! On this blog I will share my favorite, most crowd pleasing recipes, I’ll share natural methods for body care and hair growth, I’ll share my beloved fashion and styling tips and how to shop on a budget, I’ll share lifestyle experiences and tips with you- and best of all… it’s FREE!! I’ve collectively spent thousands of hours over the last decade learning all these things, reading all the old books, learning natural ways to heal our bodies through herbs and plants that God provided us, I’ve also taught myself how to can foods, make all the sourdough recipes, and how to make jams and so many other things. I think this knowledge should be passed on for free- so you’ll never see me trying to make a profit off of the things I’ve learned. If any of this interests you, please follow along! I’ve linked my Pinterest and Instagram accounts so that you can easily follow me. I’m not the most active on IG, but I’m getting back into it and I’d love to meet you there!
As always, be blessed.
Much love,
Micaela.
